BAC-PAC harnesses the voices and focuses, resources, and passions of the wildlife and natural resource conservation community through the Boone & Crockett Political Action Committee (BAC-PAC) via advocacy and engagement with key decision makers in the United States Congress. As a political action committee (PAC), BAC-PAC is not part of the Boone & Crockett Club itself, however, our activities work in tandem with the Club’s mission and the mission of similar like-minded organizations promoting the responsible management of fair chase hunting and habitat conservation.

Just as President Theodore Roosevelt believed in the power of robust political advocacy in the name of preserving America’s natural beauty for the public good, BAC-PAC continues that legacy through the donations and support from throughout North America.

The goal is simple, protect the Club tax exempt status as the PAC is separate and apart from the Club.

Boone & Crockett Political Action Committees (BAC-PAC) Success!

Throughout the past two years we dipped our collective toes into somewhat uncharted political waters.  We reached our fundraising goal of $175,000 and we invested it wisely.  We stuck to our five guiding principles and supported the congressional incumbents who had supported our legislative and policy directions of the hunting conservation community.  Our overall record was 21 wins and one loss.  More importantly, we positioned ourselves well for the 119th Congress that has now begun.

It’s worth reflecting on our successful accomplishments from the close of the 118th Session.

  • Passage of the Expanding Public Lands Outdoor Recreation Experiences (EXPLORE) Act. The EXPLORE Act, the largest package of outdoor recreation legislation in recent history contained important provisions that will reduce burdensome regulations on public land users
  • Passage of the America’s Conservation Enhancement (ACE) Act, a package of conservation legislation that included reauthorization of the North American Wetland Conservation Act, as well as important federal coordination among the states and tribes dealing with chronic wasting disease.

BAC-PAC’s efforts supporting our champions on Capitol Hill have helped cultivate new friendships, which is critical to our ongoing success. While we experienced great successes as the previous Congress and Administration came to a close, several of our priorities were left on the cutting room floor and will need to be taken up with the new Congress and new Administration in Washington, DC.
